Why VitusVet Exists

We love pets and believe in advocating for them because they can’t speak for themselves. Our goal is to build products using innovative technology to help veterinarians and pet owners share medical information to improve the well being of our pets.

Mark Olcott, DVM

Mark, a native of upstate NY, obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1995 and, in 2013, his MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Mark was a partner for several years in a multi-doctor small animal practice before leaving to start his own mobile ultrasonography business. More recently, Mark worked as an Emergency Veterinarian at a local referral hospital. He was named by his peers as one of the Top Veterinarians in Northern Virginia, holds multiple patents, and is a published author.

Mark and his co-founders were business school classmates from 2012-2013 where Vitus started as a team project. Vitus is a collaborative venture between people with very diverse backgrounds and expertise, and is now a growing company with one simple goal: to make it easier for veterinarians and pet owners to share information. Mark lives in Urbana, Maryland with his wife, three children, two cats, two dogs, and a rabbit.

Kalpesh Raval

Kalpesh is originally from Mumbai, India where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Mumbai University. He earned his Executive MBA from the Robert. H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

Kalpesh has always been passionate about technology and design. He believes in using technology to create accessible and user-friendly experiences for consumers. Before VitusVet, Kalpesh always felt the void when it came to using his passion for something that had the potential to make meaningful impact. When Kalpesh met Mark at the business school and heard the story of Bogey, he knew at that moment that he could make a huge impact with his background. They decided to join hands and start VitusVet. Kalpesh is very excited to change the future of veterinary medicine with the goal of improving the health and well-being of our pets.

Kalpesh lives in Ellicott City, MD with his wife and two children, a son and daughter born exactly three years apart.
